Es geht um Elefanten. Und um die Ehre, natürlich. Die China-Mafia hat den König der Palastelefanten von Bangkok nach Australien entführt. Kham (Tony Jaa) ist der Mahut dieses ganz besonderen Tieres und als solcher natürlich ein ganz besonderer Mahut. Mit dem Dickhäuter aufgewachsen steht er ihm näher als jedem anderen Menschen. Das aber ist eine Selbstverständlichkeit im Reich der Elefantenführer.
Zunächst muss sich Kham in Sydney durchschlagen. Was nicht leicht ist, so ganz ohne Sprachkenntnisse, Charme und den geringsten Sinn für Diplomatie. Doch bald kann er seine besonderen Kampfkünste einsetzen, und die versteht ja jeder.
Der mit "Ong-bak" im Westen bekannt gewordene thailändische Actionstar Tony Jaa demonstriert auch in seinem neuen Abenteuer seine "handgemachte", artistische Kampfkunst, die noch ganz ohne Special Effects auskommt. "Revenge of the Warrior - Tom yum goong" bietet solide Action mit zum Teil atemberaubenden Kampfchoreografien, die im Heimatland bereits am Boxoffice erfolgreich waren.
