Beschreibung
Nach acht Jahren im Gefängnis steht der Ex-Soldat Cameron Poe (Nicolas Cage) kurz vor der Entlassung. Doch an Bord des Spezialflugzeugs "Con Air", das ihn nach Hause fliegen soll, gerät er mitten in einen Aufstand der gefährlichsten Verbrecher der USA.
Unter der Führung des Killers Cyrus "The Virus" Grissom (John Malkovich) gelingt es diesen, die "Con Air" zu kapern und der Radarverfolgung zu entkommen. Verzweifelt versucht Cameron fortan, das FBI wieder auf die Fährte der Gangster zu führen.
Eine Jerry Bruckheimer-Produktion ("The Rock"), die alle Publikumsansprüche an den modernen Action-Film perfekt erfüllt: pausenlos Kämpfe von Mann zu Mann, ein brachialer Soundtrack, spektakuläre Stunt-Einlagen und wuchtige Explosionen.
Darüber hinaus hat das Regiedebüt des Ex-Werbefilmers Simon West noch einige der zugkräftigsten männlichen Hollywood-Stars zu bieten: Neben Action-Ikone Nicolas Cage ("Im Körper des Feindes") agieren vor allem John Malkovich ("Gefährliche Liebschaften"), Ving Rhames ("Pulp Fiction") und John Cusack ("High Fidelity").
