Beschreibung
Was passiert, wenn die Grenze zwischen Gang-Leben und bürgerlichem Glück, Chaos und Ordnung, Armut und Wohlstand, plötzlich aufgehoben ist? Eine spannende Antwort gibt James Wan, der seinem Horrorhit "Saw" nun einen rücksichtslosen Rachethriller folgen lässt und damit nicht nur das Blut seiner Hauptfigur zum Kochen bringt.
Nick Hume (Kevin Bacon) ist Musterbürger und Modellvater, bis sein ältester Sohn von einer Gang ermordet wird. Zerfressen von Schmerz und vom Gesetz im Stich gelassen, lauert Nick dem Täter auf und löst damit einen Krieg mit Gangleader Billy Darly (Garrett Hedlund) aus, in dem alle Regeln aufgelöst sind und beide Männer sich immer ähnlicher werden.
Am Ende, vor und auf der Leinwand aufgewühlt und ausgepumpt, bohrt sich die Frage in den Magen, ob Nick in jedem von uns auf seine Explosion wartet.
