Hellboy (Einzel-DVD)

Von all den Comicverfilmungen 2004 ist "Hellboy" die eine, die unverschämt großen Spaß verspricht: Während der Zweite Weltkrieg tobt, versucht der größenwahnsinnige Magier Rasputin, die Pforten der Hölle zu öffnen und die Apokalypse heraufzubeschwören.
Durch eine Schleuse wird "Hellboy" (Ron Perlman) dabei direkt aus den höllischen Flammen auf die Erde geschleudert.
Der US-Wissenschaftler "Broom" (John Hurt) nimmt sich wie ein Vater seiner an und zieht ihn im Schutz des "Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense" auf.
Dort bekämpft der inzwischen groß gewordene Superheld gemeinsam mit Fischmann Abe (Doug Jones) und Feuerlady Liz (Selma Blair) all die übernatürlichen Kräfte, die sich die Erde untertan machen wollen.
Und Rasputin, der Schlimmste von allen, verfolgt seine finsteren Pläne von einst mit allen Mitteln weiter.
Seine wichtigste Schachfigur dabei ist ausgerechnet Hellboy. Doch er hat nicht damit gerechnet, dass ein Mensch wählen kann, ob er auf der dunklen oder der hellen Seite der Macht steht.
